Security System Installer, Technician
Our client is responsible for the installation of security systems at large retail stores, and require an Installation Technician, who can manage such installations throughout Victoria.

Duties are performed at nights, while stores are closed.

Main Purpose is to be able to competently install and maintain Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS), Merchandise Visibility (MV) Systems incorporating Radio Frequency (RF), RFID and other Shrink Management Solution technologies.

Requirements/Objectives

• Locate, mount, tune and commission all EAS hardware, including but not limited to antennas, deacts, detachers and power supplies in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Locate, mount, tune and commission all MV hardware, including but not limited to console, satellite and motion sensor in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Locate, mount, tune and commission other Shrink Management Solution technologies, including but not limited to people counting devices, smart alarm and remote access in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Install cabling – floor cuts, confined cabling within the ceiling, conduit, carpet strip/wire mould.
• Fit off / terminate cabling – 24V power, synchronization, network (CAT “categories” as applicable) and coaxial cables.
• Repair floor cuts – re-grout tiles, re-glue carpet etc.
• Recommend and review store layouts/plans within the technical limitation of the product
• Authorise (conduct where required) store site surveys
• Responsible for final quality control related to the installation
• Install, commission and service Customer Priority System (Turn-o-matic).
• Interpret Technical Drawings, Floor Plans, and Site Surveys.
• Conduct and assess site surveys, identifying potential problems and anomalies
• Write work method statements or job safety analysis (OH&S) for installations.
• Diagnose and rectify EAS system level faults, board level faults environmental problems including but not limited to resonance and noise.
• Diagnose and rectify all MV hardware, including but not limited to reflections, shielding and interference.
• Diagnose and rectify other Shrink Management Solution technologies, including but not limited to CCTV, people counting devices, smart alarm and remote access in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Education/Experience

• Minimum HSC/VCE or equivalent.
• Minimum three years experience in a relevant field.
• Proven relevant experience or post trade qualifications in and knowledge of the installation and maintenance of electronic security systems.
• Previous experience supervising apprentices
• Hold a clean drivers license.
• Working with height certificate.
• Restricted cable License.
• A Construction induction card.
• Ability to lift up to 35kg.

Shifts 7.5hr shift between 6pm to 6am with the occasional requirements of daytime work Sunday to Thursday (with the occasional requirements of weekend work)
