How genuine are job seekers?
We are asking this question, as over the last 3 weeks, we have been unable to get in touch via, email, phone or text, with 46 people who have applied for jobs.
This is not the first time this has happened, and clearly there is a pattern of people simply applying for jobs just for “the hell of it.”
I realise a lot of people will be simply sending in resumes to make sure they reach their quota to continue to claim unemployment benefits, however, most of these people are actually currently in work.
So why send your resume in for an advertised job, if you have no real interest in the job? Are they somehow using an automated system that is sending their resume regardless of whether they have actually looked at a job, or did they send their resume off for multiple positons, and received call backs from other agencies?
I am not able to put my finger on the reason for this, but people need to be aware, that if this is practice, then we will simply block their emails, and no longer be able to accept any resumes they should send in the future.
Everything has consequences, so if you are applying for work, and an agency or an employer try to contact you, then do the right thing and respond, with a yes or a no, as to fail to do so could impact on your chance of gaining further work or opportunities through that agency.
