Based in Acacia Ridge, as Data Communication Technician, you will install and service optical fibre cable solutions across Queensland.
Day to day this will involve:
- Visiting customers sites across Queensland and lead the joining, termination and testing of optical fibre cables
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the field
- Read and understand cable plans and designs to safely and accurately install and repair solutions
- Work safely and be comfortable working at heights, including climbing power transmission structures (6-10mtr) and within confined spaces
Essential skills
- ACMA Open Cable Registration or a willingness to complete and maintain the certification as part of your ongoing employment
- Current Australian manual drivers licence
- The ability to follow tasks through to completion and work to deadlines
- Comfortable flying to remote sites and driving long distances
- A strong safety focus and a customer service ethos
- Ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team
- The right to work in Australia with no restrictions
Desirable
- MR Heavy Vehicle Licence. Note if this licence is currently not held, you will be supported to obtain it as a requirement of the position
- Certificate 3 in Telecommunications
- Prior site-based experience work, within the electrical or telecommunications industry
