As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales. This is a highly dynamic, customer-facing role that requires a strong ability to build relationships, drive growth, understand customer needs, and close deals. Travel will play a key part of the role in order to identify new business opportunities, manage existing relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with both existing and new customers
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Provide expert knowledge, specifications and customisation options based on customer needs.
- Negotiate customer pricing, terms and contracts to close sales and achieve set sales targets.
- Attend trade shows and client meetings to assist in the promotion and increase sales.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Engineering teams to ensure customer orders are fulfilled and delivered on time.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Transport industry experience with an understanding of truck bodies and chassis types would be highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of major fleet operators throughout the country.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
- An ability to work well under pressure.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- 3 years + of proven experience in sales, preferably in the transport industry.
- Excellent communication skills both written & verbal.
- Solid computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office programs.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented with a strong work ethic and a desire to succeed.
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
- Comfortable with extensive travel and maintaining a flexible schedule.
- Valid driver’s license.
