In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing engineering design and drafting support for the development and manufacture of custom vehicle bodies and equipment.
What you’ll be doing
- Developing 2D and 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings for new and modified vehicle body designs
- Conducting structural and mechanical analyses to ensure designs meet all relevant safety and performance standards
- Collaborating with the production team to resolve any technical issues that arise during the manufacturing process
- Maintaining up-to-date technical documentation and design specifications
- Supporting the continuous improvement of design and manufacturing processes
What we’re looking for
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar engineering design and drafting role, preferably within the automotive or commercial vehicle industry
- Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D CAD software, such as AutoCAD and Solidworks
- Strong technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Familiarity with Australian design standards and regulations for commercial vehicles
