
An established Melbourne labour hire business focused on Building, Construction and Civil Works are now seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager, who can open doors, win new accounts and create recurring labour demand.
This is a dedicated sales and business development role. It is not a recruitment delivery or candidate-management position. The successful person will build relationships with builders, construction companies, subcontractors, civil contractors, project managers and procurement teams across Melbourne and Victoria.

The role may also identify additional construction and civil occupations that fit compaies licence, compliance capability and commercial model.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business across commercial construction, residential construction and civil works.
- Use existing industry relationships to secure meetings, site opportunities, labour orders and preferred supplier arrangements.
- Target suitable clients based on the skills, tickets, location and availability of candidate database.
- Conduct face-to-face client meetings, site visits and regular prospecting activity.
- Prepare proposals, rate cards, tenders and capability submissions with director approval.
- Identify and coordinate suitable government and civil tender opportunities, particularly non-EBA civil works.
- Grow new accounts into recurring, multi-worker client relationships.
Experience We Are Looking For
- Proven senior business development experience in construction labour hire, recruitment or workforce services.
- Established relationships within commercial construction, residential construction or civil works.
- Civil works relationships and government tender experience are highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of construction labour requirements, site expectations and commercial pricing.
- Ability to build a client portfolio without relying on a mature inherited desk.
- Commercially disciplined, self-directed and comfortable working on the road and from home.
- Strong CRM, pipeline, forecasting, negotiation and tender-writing capability.
- Previous 360 Recruitment or Labour Hire Desk within Building, Construction & Civil Works is highly regarded.
Remuneration
- $90,000 to $110,000 base salary, depending on experience and relationships.
- Approved business kilometres reimbursed.
- Phone and iPad supplied.
- Uncapped quarterly commission based on collected eligible gross profit.
There is no commission cap
Working Arrangement
- Field-based and work-from-home role.
- Regular travel to client offices, project sites and industry meetings.
- Weekly toolbox and sales meeting at CBD location.
- The person must manage their own schedule, prospecting activity, meetings and follow-up.
